WOOD extra 2.
This has to be the 26 or 27th wood party.. we kinda lost count, but it's a real special edition none the less. All previous editions we've focussed on
international artists visiting our little country, this edition we look inwards and give the stage to 9 Belgian liveacts, some have paved the way for years
and are international breakcore superstars in their own right, some of them are freshly born from the fertile woumb that is the belgian breakcore scene. And
offcourse, we couldn't help ourselves and we invited two Americans living in Berlin, just so we could put some countrynames on our poster..
SO if you want to know what's brewing in the belly of belgian underground, with two world class acts as cherries on the pie, come and rave!
Let's take a tour in the line-up:
DRUMCORPS (us)
Aaron Spectre as Drumcorps is an American that lives on planes and trains, the hardest working man in CoreBizz packs heavy live guitarriffs and mad mashup
junglebreaks. The show is incredibly intense, Aaron's two meter long dreadlocks are all over the place! And the moshpit will be just as lethal. Unanimiously
well reviewed EP's on a.o. Kriss, Death$ucker, Cock Rock Disco, etz... he now has his first full album as Drumcorps (on Ad Noiseam).
ATOMLY (us)
A crusader from the beginning, part of the mid west barnparty scene, adam lee is a giant, both in real life and when his tunes are concerned, He's been
playing show at eat every opportunity he could, be it in someone's livving room or in the middle of a cornfield. He started his own label, Atomic Records.
He lives in Berlin now and is gettng know as a heavy party animal.
About to time to give the belgian audience a taste of his fierce mix of breakcore, dark d'n'b en hardcore.
Simon Korfunkle
From "la wallonie profonde" comes Simon, a longtime friend of Wood, but never on the line-up. NO MORE! This trouble maker hits dancefloors all over europe
with tweaked-up four to the floor berzerkcore. Also runs, what a coincidence, the BERZERK record label and is closely linked to the FULL DAWA parties.
X&trick
Don of bugKliniK records and parties. Plays his liveset of clever well produced breakcore all over the world, from Osaka to london to bucharest and back
again. Rapidly getting more recognition by rave pundits worldwide. A globally rising star on the breakcore firnament with a long tail of history behind him.
Harry Poppins
Brussels beat wizard, mashes up the poptunes and bring the crispy breaks like the best of em, has a release on Wood comming up, find out why!
Despoilah
17 year ols prodigal bastard son of the ghent breakcore scene, Check the twisted stuff that come from such a young mind.
Matar
Another child of the dancefloor, part of the uber true-to-the-core bye le banal/electric puke crew. Hard skull cracking ravemosh to the maximum!
Makasu Hath Core
The liveset leg of the kapotte radio crew. A little poisonous sinterklaas present waiting for all the naughty kids.
Etchaberry
Another walloon baboon, big Etch is the brain behind Ex Nihilo Records. He walks his own path and it led him to opening for snares in the AB and getting booked far from our little borders.
Woodcrew
And last but not least have Sickboy, opening the night/ending with a versatile set, Tim Terror and his brother Rik Mayhem with a full hour in the middle of the night to do their thing, and the Giggling Dildas, with a fresh tour under their belts, more powerfull then ever. No Droon this time, but he'll back with a vengeance.
